When The Magick Fails

I challenge my ability,
With subtle words and books,
Some days the spirit guides my heart,
A circle draws lunar looks.
Stronger am I when I move,
The clouds or candle's flame,
But when the magick doesn't work,
Am I to take the blame?
Are others on this earth stronger than I?
Drawing power from elementals and sky?
Leaving me useless for this night?
Worldly spirits denying me might?
I am but one beseeching man,
"Do good for all" - the esoteric plan,
To draw down energy from above,
Heavenly Father's strength and
Heavenly Mother's compassion and love.
Then . . . When doubts refrain . . .
Earthly blessings flow again.
But not before withering fear
Muddies the actions - unclear.
So they say,
Time will judge the wondrous day,
Dark nights of the soul fill me with uncertainty.
Yeild to the circular force of Fire I am,
Earth, Water, Air and Spirit,
Complete the unending magickal plan.
Author's Notes: Written for those times when our craft gives no (or worse yet) negative results.
