September, 1984 - A Long Lost Love

In the morning cafe,
Across from each other,
After our late night fight,
And early morning hate,
Just before work,
We're dressed to perfection.
I watch your lips sip,
As your eyes look back up,
For the first time,
In many silent, lonely hours,
Our eyes meet as
Love returns to sweet.
We part from the cafe,
To go our seperate ways,
To work for another,
Until we long for each other,
At the end of the day.
Author's Notes: On a silent night just recently I penned this in about thirty seconds while recalling an indelible memory of the first lady who truly loved me. I guess some loves will always transcend time. This memory is from early autumn twenty years ago. Why did it pop into my head at that particular time? I haven't a clue.
