Hope manifests the most when the world is about to end
Yet, our spirits remain intact, more so than we can comprehend
Can’t you feel love sprout under a starless, wretched night?
Wherever it is darkest, you and I will always find the light
Remember when we were falling in the bottomless pit of despair?
I recall we found solid ground again because we are a clever pair!
Though you sigh constantly during our every chance meeting
I cherish those melancholy exhales because your presence is fleeting
To me, the galaxy ends before the second star to the right
If ever you are stolen from me, and kept from my sight
That path less traveled is where we met, do you remember at all?
Of course you do, and because of you, it was such a fine-looking Fall.
Being most fortunate, I discovered Love’s Twin around the gloaming,
And though eternally wingless, on Earth he is always roaming.
Cupid has replaced Adonis, though I’m no Aphrodite
How could a god know of a mortal like me?
In general, idle reverence is frowned upon and given a sneer
But I possess more joy in my heart than any others here
Give respect and love where it is due
Let me proudly shout that I love you!
