Spirit of the Earth

Your living sentient soil beneath our feet,
the scent of your flowers bring smiles as sweet.
From you our eternal spirit was first truly born,
as the kiss of sun to each precious morn.
Rejoicing in the knowledge that we share in your power,
each striving for life’s pinnacle before our vessels last hour.
The energies you bequeath to each in our turn,
lead us to honor air, water, earth, and the fires that burn.
The gifts that you give us, the lessons you teach,
commanding spirit of the earth, it is to you we evermore reach.
