13 Steps Down

Age Group: Adult
Down my hidden stairs that number thirteen,
I’m entering now, like chasing a dream.
At the top step one, dark all around,
but at the bottom a glow, substantial, almost solid, a welcoming sound.
Step two, the tensions begin to absolve,
my friends, the spirits waiting below will help me evolve.
Step three, I am eager to arrive but keep the pace slow,
breath in deeply, the magical spirits are taking control.
Step four, I feel it entering me, the energy abounds,
tingling kisses upon me, as it flows up from the ground.
Step five, peace and joy, I feel so elated
all concerns from outside are soon to be sated.
Step six, the light shines brighter, I can feel that it lives,
what a wondrous feeling, this joy it so freely gives.
Step seven, I am half way there but I must keep the pace,
learn the control as I rejoice in the powerful embrace.
Step eight, there ahead through the light I can just barely see,
through the open door at the bottom, the holiest of trees.
Step nine, still I descend, to the realm of the Fae I draw near,
just a few more steps and soon I’ll be there
.
Step ten, slow tears of joy as I behold the implausible sight,
the Mother, her branches engulfing her children of the light.
Step eleven, I am now saturated with joy and her powerful force,
in awe and reverence I accept her control with not an ounce of remorse.
Step twelve, I know I am loved and cherished for the life that I hold,
born of her, I share in her fierce power, both gentle and bold.
Thirteen, I have completed my decent and what joy I can not speak
the Fae and the Mother, ever thankful am I to be one with the power we all seek.
