Valentine Massacre

The sky is gray and thunder cracks the sky wide open
As couples scurry to find shelter from the onslaught of the rain
Muddy roads make for slippery falls
I laugh viciously as I watch them tumble
Mud everywhere
Couples running
I sit cozy in my four wheel drive
Listening to gentle rumble of my engine
I watch the scene before me
Glaring at all these smug couples
Watching them kiss and hold hands
So sweetly, so nicely
I shudder with repulsion
Anger and rage racks my body
As if another entity were inside me
Taking over
Burning with fevered hatred at this
Sickening display of affection
Then it happens
The unthinkable
My hands gripping the steering wheel
I watch as a young happy couple cross my path
Smiling, laughing holding hands
Rubbing their smug happiness in my face
I CAN TAKE NO MORE
I press down on the gas
The engine roars like an angry demon let loose
Gripping each other hands more tightly
A feeble attempt to protect themselves
Their eyes wide with fear
Shock and disbelief
I glare at them as the rain pours down on them
Like daggers tearing their flesh
I ram into them
Sending them flying in different directions
I laugh maniacally
I've succeeded
They are no longer holding hands
They lie on opposite sides of the road
Bleeding
Gasping
Torn apart forever
Blood pools into the mud until the road
becomes a gory red mural of death
People scream and run to the scene but I am long gone
Laughing
Lightning strikes
My deed is done
