Opening Doors

Age Group: Adult
How many doors do we open in our lifetime?
And once opened, do we enter through each portal blindly?
Do we go where we're sent ... or where our instincts lead us?
Do we allow ourselves to tarry where we feel peace ... or do we spend more time where we have to be?
At the end of our lifetime
If we tally the number of positive experiences against the negative ... would we say we opened more "good" doors or "bad"?
Must we experience those bad places in order to contrast with the good?
Sigh...I don't know
But at this time in my life
I'm ready to open the doors only of my choosing
I want to reach destinations that make me happy
I want to get lost in the beauty that has escaped me
for so long.
