On rain ...

Age Group: Adult
Sometimes people speak of rain as cleansing the earth
But I think of rain as filling up the earth
With emptiness
For when it rains
We all seek shelter
And the world is like a ghost dream
The rushing sound of falling water
Drowns out all sight and sound
And fills my head with silent noise
Where the gray light reigns supreme
And happiness is like a forgotten dream.
