Surviving Loss

Age Group: Adult
I stand beneath the bone white moon
Under canopy of silvery stars
Contemplating life as I stare at the waves
Will it yet tarry awhile?
I close my eyes, seeking answers
But it is not for me to know
Always we are victims, unaware
As the sea of life takes who she will
Beyond the pale moon their souls shall fly
Becoming part of the ancient stars
Always we are left with half a heart
Until our wounded soul heals
Beneath the moon you stand alone
Under canopy of loved ones long gone
Is it peace you seek? Or answers, my friend?
They are not the same thing, you know.
