Place of Light, Home of Darkness

On the planet of seven suns
Nights never strike but always sung
Clouds roll past bringing false twilight
Storms being the random midnight
Lakes and oceans glisten anew
Skies are always a summer blue
Flowers are plentiful amongst the fields
To the grazers they must yield
Hearty trees do grow tall
From a blade they’ll never fall
Across the sky, there takes flight
Birds of paradise with wings of white
Though this place seems safe and well
This is where the darkness dwells
In the forest amongst the shadows
Eyes shining, low it bellows
Author's Notes: I was trying for something light since everything I write always comes out dark, but as you can see darkness still lingers in my writing. I guess it can be seen that despite how beautiful and light a person can be, we each have a little darkness in us that won't quite go away.
