Till then, Knowing No Touch

So many beautiful people,
All around.
Yet I cringe from them,
Afraid.
I long for their touch,
But pull back,
Unsure,
Tortured.
Feeling unworthy
Of being with them,
Of knowing them.
How I wish,
I weren’t so scared.
Someday,
I may conquer this fear,
Knowing I won’t hurt them,
By accident,
Or on purpose.
And knowing,
They won’t hurt me.
Till then, I wait.
Burning,
Needing,
But refusing myself.
Till then,
I will smolder,
Growing every more needing.
But I will wait,
Till then,
Till a time arrives,
When the past
Finally rests,
And I can maybe
Find love,
Unfettered,
Free.
Bringing me the joy
I so desire.

Author's Notes: I'm hoping... I know there's someone out there that will help me through my fears, based as they are in a rather unpleasant childhood. Someday, I'll find that one guy that won't force me, or get impatient with me... My girlfriend is trying but this is something I think only a man will be able to help me with... Since this fear I'm talking about here is of guys. *wince* Oh well... Someday... Maybe...........
