Needing Friends

Age Group: Adult
Some days,
Something happens.
Then we have to call
On those we name friend.
For strength,
For healing,
For whatever we need.
Without those special few,
We would fall,
Beneath waves
Of Despair,
Of Pain,
Of Hopelessness.
But those friends
Give us the Power,
The Will,
To go on,
No matter how bad it seems.
For some,
Friends are the highest jewels,
Cherished always,
No matter how far away.
Held dear,
Close to heart,
Always in mind.
Call on friends,
When in need,
For anything.
True friends will help.
Always.
Under attack,
They come to protect.
In agony,
Physical or mental,
They give a balm of words,
Or maybe of touch,
If they are near enough to do so.
Friendship,
That rarest of true treasures,
Higher than any mundane item,
Gives and receives
Unconditionally.
Always be there,
And I will so be.
Call on me if you have need,
And I pray that you will be there,
Should I be the one needing.
I will guard you,
As best I can,
Or heal you should you ask it of me.
I will watch over you,
Keeping you safe,
At night,
During day,
Always.
As best I can.
I swear this,
By all the Powers That Be,
To remain ever at your side,
Where ever in the world I may be,
I will come,
As quick as I can,
Whether within my body,
Or without it.
All I need to hear,
Is your call,
And I will be there.
Gods and Goddesses,
Hear my words,
Keep those dear to me,
And those dear to them,
Safe and well.
Protect them always.
Spread thy wings about them,
And keep them from harm.
For they are my friends,
A part of me,
As I hope I am a part of them.
Guard them with thy might,
Thy glory
For through thine power,
I hope to keep them safe.
Hear me, I pray.
Always.

Author's Notes: My friend, Brighja, hit a rather nasty time last week... He called on me and a few others he knows when he needed us. I hope the others came to his aid as I did. I know he got the help I sent and I'm relieved he's alright. I would do that for any friend in need. I know he'll read this... Somehow he'll know it's from me. At least I know I have two true friends out there, who come to my aid if I need them. And I will do anything I can to keep them safe and well! Blessed be and so mote it be!!
