Dream Words

For years, my dreams have seemed to speak.
Now I see that they did,
And I must learn to heed.
For my dreams still talk,
Though their words are hard to understand.
Seer’s gift,
Or at least one form of it.
Sometimes waking dreams
Visions of things,
What people once knew
And what they should know.
Secrets of theirs I can see,
Though I may not always want to.
What I see, I must say,
What I say, may not be believed.
Like Cassandra, my words seem too strange,
Too far fetched to follow,
Unless proof is shown.
How hard is proof to find?
Unless you can see something
Only they could know,
Impossible, or nearly.
But my words are usually true,
Usually, eerily accurate.
Sometimes, I can stop from seeing,
But usually no.
So now I hear these words,
See these things,
Quite a bit, though not as much
As I used to.
I don’t think my Gift is fading,
Maybe I’m just learning to control,
This power I have,
This strange curse that haunts.
But the words will keep coming,
For a Seer is lifelong.
I’ll always See, as I always have.
I’ll say what I See,
And hope to See things get better,
Easier, for this world,
And its people.
