Secret Place

The winter sky,
burdened with hue of
Charcoal and ash, ominous and cold;
Churning,
whirling,
moving,
obstructing the light,
the blue;
as if hiding some marvelous secret
that if known,
would set the whole world free;
all secrets
released from the shade of longing.
I close my eyes,
And to my surprise,
A single ray of light
Gently reaches to touch my face.
It feels like warm honey
Sweet and viscous.
The pores on my face
having become as taste buds
bask in this sweet light
as it's warmth begins to sink
beneath my skin.
I open my eyes to see
this site of the sun
breaking the night
When I realize that I have
been fooled
by something far brighter,
for I find that I’m looking
at you.
Smiles ear to ear,
I must have laughed with you
a thousand times in this secret place
deep within my chest.
How did you find me here?
It must be the current that runs through you;
A beautiful river from which I drank from
Long ago,
that courses through misty
Forests of deep green
With all manner of vegetation
To quiet the hunger at every grasp;
A placed I have missed,
my wand now on a shelf,
covered with dust.
You reach and touch my chest
And my old soil cracked and dry
Once again becomes rich with minerals.
Vines, flowers and foliage begin to climb my limbs
And leaves of oak weave upon my face;
the antlers tower proudly from my crown.
With my hoofs back, agile and free,
I scamper to the forest edge
And look back at you with smiling eyes.
And with a flick of my tail
and flutter of my tongue
I leap into the forest mist
and become the fruit
hanging from all the trees.
It was the magick
Seen by a child,
In the reflection of a single drop of dew
Resting upon a leaf
that She cupped in her hand.
