A Ship On the Horizon

by Rev. Matthew Crowson

Age Group: Adult

Led into the light,
To descend into darkness,
Brought up as a knight,
To live as a commoner,
Alone amid Shadows,
Awaiting the inevitable dawn,
Like a specter in a dream.

Together like the harmonic complimenting the note,
Sitting upon a shelf like a book to be wrote,
Drug away in confusion,
To act out a scene based on a lie,
Tears of remorse are no longer mine,
The Gods hath made their choice in these matters,
If wrong had I been,
where would I be?
Yet as right I am no different,
Either way,
I now sit alone,
Like a hermit pondering the winds of change.
As the song says,
All things are but dust in the wind.
Yet when, though I was right,
Will the trumpeted dance of destiny begin?
At times I am forced to wonder,
is life but a long foolish blunder,
Or was there ever anything to be torn asunder.
No Matter how much I tried,
Nor even had I died,
Never would I be the thief who came in the night,
to shatter in pieces my life,
Under the False pretense of a friend.

At Times I wish it would end,
The wetware interfaces of my shattered heart,
Yet still beat with life,
Hmm, This is precarious isn’t?
Wouldn’t it be nice just to reboot,
Not the warm boot of sleep,
But shut down the power,
Until there is no activity in my RAM,
And then turn the whole damn Thing back on,
With a hallucinogenic BIOS,
And a Cannabis memory manager.
To sail the electronic seas of knowledge,
And to close my eyes on the world of Man.

Yet Even muddling though the electron facsimile of the third scared thing,
One can still feel the wake of the Ship of Fools........
