My Secret Wife

Compelling, inviting, promising,
are shadows,
until surrounded, imbedded in their mist,
you realize... it was all about nothing;
lungs squeezing on the smoke
of reality.
Never more joy,
Nor more sorrow,
Than what my secret wife
Infected me with;
a hopeless infection...
I Having bitten into virgin fruit
from a land of sand,
where the Ahura Mazda still stands
abandoned…looking as hollow as I feel.
At least you can’t hide me anymore,
I’ll not be a secret for love
whose part you once played,
In the night, in the dark...
beyond judgment, beyond praise.
Never more joy,
nor more sorrow
than my secret wife...
the poison honey
that fills my veins
as I await the cure
from one who yet lurks
in the shadows
that made me blind.
