A BELTANE SONNET

Age Group: Adult
Oh come Faire Maidens
and braid your hair,
with flowers and ribbons
and dress with care!
For it is May Eve
and love is in the air,
spells and magick
are everywhere!
Oh come bold Lads
and lite the Belfire,
let it warm up
your inner desires!
For it is Beltane
the Lord is newly horned.
For sacred Rite sworn
by Oak, Ash and Thorn!
Oh come and sing
and dance all around.
The Maypole is up
planted deep in the ground!
The Earth rejoices
in this act of power.
The veil is thin
at this our witching hour!
Oh blessed be the Maiden
the Mother and the Crone.
Blessed be Cernunnos
he the Horned One!
May Queen and May King
we call upon you now,
to bless this sacred rite
and really make it howl!!!

This is Sonnet only in the looses sense. It far succeed the traditional 14 line limit. :)
