REJECTED LOVER'S LAMENT

Age Group: Adult
Don't really know what to say.
Just feeling kind of numb.
To hope, to dream, to reach out,
and in the end feel so dumb.
Try to give so much.
To have it kicked back in your face.
Sometimes I think it would be safer,
to not even get into the race.
But this life is to damn short,
to just stand by paralyzed.
The years are passing quickly,
right before my very eyes.
Is true love just a myth,
a legend or plain lie?
A fallacy of hope,
that keeps us from just laying down to die.
The thought that maybe today,
I'll meet that special one.
Keeps you from wanting to go out
and blow your brains out with a gun.
I know this poem is a little dark,
but writing it was fun!
Oh here comes a nice looking Babe,
maybe she's the One!!!

The Human Condition can sometimes be so Bizarre!. It's like the song by Aaron Nevillie, says "Everybodys played the Fool" !:)
