I’m captured, frozen, seized by you
By your gaze of turquoise and complex hues.
Paralyzed at the core of my very am,
Your subtle allure I cannot withstand.
With skin of silk so fresh and clear
Wearing no masks to cover your fears
Locks of gold tossed by the earths breath
Inspiring the Sun’s jealousy of from it’s heavenly set
Pure and clear as freshly fallen snow
Aside a mountain stream whom effluence has never known
But you all along you are set in a world apart,
By a chasm of culture and spirit, in contrast so stark
Causing my desire to swallow me alive
While reaching for the thought of you as down I slide
Into the gullet of misplaced years
Digested by fate and washed down with tears
I’m swooned, I’m doomed, I’m gone…
Author's Notes: I was taken with a fellow student in my anthropology class. The subject was American Religious Diversity. We all had to research a religious path and do a project on it. I chose Sufism and she chose Wicca and we had struck up a great relationship as I aided her in her research. She was a Christian and a virgin. She was too young really, but it didn’t feel that way. Being around her was intoxicating. She got a 4.0 on her project as well as I . The last I had heard was that she moved out of her fundamentalist parent’s house and moved in with her Unitarian Grandparents, an improvement to say the least. She was absolutely radiant, just an Angel. I never saw her again.
