Oh thou deathless one from on high
Fun loving and laughing Aphrodite,
thou hast left the comfort of thy golden temple
to see what I have fashioned for thee,
and to see the world with thine own eyes of precious
blue-green tourmaline from which flow rivers of molten
crystal at the site of the joys and the sorrows that plague mankind.
Patroness of love, lead us to that place within our hearts
where your beauty is enthroned so we may see you there,
and also that we may all have the same hope that you have given me;
for you have forever marked my flesh,
with the nail of thy finger,
and with the power of thy kiss that has filled me,
full of thy magick.
And may these always remind me,
that you are always near.
Author's Notes: This one was to commemorate one of the more profound experiences in my life. Working as a journeyman incenseir under Master herbalist and Magician Leon Reed, I determined to complete that level with two deity incenses one being Aphrodite, someone I feel very close too and love dearly.
Rather than alchemically combine the mixture, I really wanted to know what she wanted in it. What better way to find that out than…sacred plants. She came to me in a vision when I was in trance, beautiful beyond any description, naked and giggling crawling across my bed. When she was nose to nose in front of me, she asked “ya got a pen and paper?”
I transcribed the ingredients from her and timed the mix to be combined in accordance with the Chaldian Oracle on a Friday at sunrise in the spring when the moon was a day from being full. The blend was later given to some friends to charge with an orgasm via touch, also within a cast circle using the same planetary opportune method later that night.
The incense is like something that is not of this world. You just can’t stop smelling it and it dances around in your head for at least 30 minutes. But the mix ended up being so powerful; it conjured her to physical appearance in my teachers tea shop Travelers in Seattle’s Capitol Hill district.
She came to thank me in person for a job well done in the body of an unwitting yet very atractive young woman. But unfortunately the experience left me with a look on my face as if I had been abducted by aliens for about 3 months after that. She marked me with her fingernail and with a great big kiss when we parted after the little journey of the neighborhoodshe took me on.
After returning to my teacher’s tea shop, shaken and awestruck, I told him what had just happened and he just cracked up laughing. He leaned over the counter and said” Now that it appears you’ve gotten someone’s attention, is there anyone else you wanna know?” N-n-n-no-no (hands waving) that’s ok. ;o) Now when anyone is carrying her I always know. I’ll never forget that experience.
