If one should just listen for a moment
by Oracle
Age Group: Adult
for all the voices that speak
across the mighty way
too much noise drowns out
any sense of wisdom this day
Who can hear you anymore?
let alone write your words...
too many voices, questing being busy
too many voices, you cannot be heard
Maybe if we were quiet just for a moment
Stop the incessant chatter
All the nonsense and bitterness
Would cease and your words would matter
I am guessing this will not happen soon
My only wish is that it would
Just for a moment of silence
Your words would be understood.
So I put my voice away as I should
I quiet my mind to be oh so still
Although quite often I fail
Despite it all, keep trying I will
I hear you sometimes
in the dead of the night
rising quickly grabbing my paper
scribbling furiously, listening as I write
I feel blessed by you my love
I thank you for your knowledge
I give my self to you my goddess
I honor you with this pledge
I will not name you yet
although it is coming
the dawn of my dedication
is yet forthcoming
But I will tell you this
in answer to your words
I will always be listening
You will always by one be heard.
