The sky was crying tonight
by Taliesin
Age Group: Adult
The sky was crying tonight.
With heavy sobs it
Flooded the streets with its tears
because you were hurting.
I ran out into the crying night,
to run from the pain of dreaming
and your face was in every drop.
The light of your eyes glistened off my skin,
And the smell of your perfume filled the air
like the finest wine fills it's chosen glass.
Your presence makes my heart
Drunk with joy, and with sorrow,
Not able to walk a straight line.
They don't see you ,
they see only your skin
and the beauty that gently rests upon it.
they see what they need, what they want;
They see who they are, not who you are.
For when I look at you ,
I see the face of God
and all I wish is to drown in your light,
and steel away from the blindness of the world.
