Angel In The Mist

There is something about your voice,
Some magnificent power
That is filled with light.
It wraps me up
And surrounds me
like the wings of an angel
shielding me from all my fears.
I guess its true then,
That you are an angel,
Whom I have all along shared
The most Wonderful times with.
Your eyes were flying the other day,
upon the wings of your mind,
To places you’ve never been,
Wondering where it is
that your spirit will feel settled,
where it will find it’s joy, it’s power.
Please don’t fly away angel,
Stay here….
how else would I see without your light?
But if you must break me
And scatter my pieces in the dust,
Then I pray you spare nothing
And shatter me with no hope of repair
letting me feel the thick richness
of joyful memories that are now
a sorrowful mist carried off on a gentle breeze.
The only one thing I would ask of you
Is to take one of my pieces
And gently place it in your soul
So I can be carried off with you
To Apollo.
And when you’re there before him,
Take me out and lay me at his feet
As a prayer that is played upon the reed flute,
So that there,
his eyes might cry for me,
and his sobs speak for me
All the things
I was too small to express.
And as the one tear drops from his eye,
Lovingly washing over me,
I turn into a feather
That he places in your wing,
Letting you fly without limit,
Leaving a trail of diamonds
Across the night sky
As you fly into your dreams
