I think of you

Upon rising in the morning,
I think of you.
When the Sun hangs warmly in the heavens above,
I think of you.
When the light slips below the horizon’s wall,
I think of you.
What do I think of you?
I think of holding hands,
Of walking by the ocean,
Of enjoying delicious Indian food,
Of feeding each other nuts and berries before class,
Of your smile and your touch,
Of your voice so gentle and sweet,
Of your deep dark Persian eyes that examine my soul,
Of kissing as if the world were about to end,
And I think of how impossible it would be
To live the rest of my life
Without you by my side
As my equal,
As my friend,
As my love,
As my teacher,
As everything I’ve ever dreamed of .
And Let not this dream fade before my eyes
Lest my heart melt from my chest
And pour it’s failing essence into oblivion
where all the lost loves go, to reside in the cold darkness.
There they forever lay, benumbed into crisp black tears of stone
that tells the story of the precious love and warmth they once held in their grasp.
My precious beauty, let the shackles of Islam
fall free from your mouth,
from your nose,
from your ears,
from your wrists,
from your arms,
from your feet,
From your parts of the sacred power;
From…your.. mind,
And run to me my princess, hard and fast!
Run to me and be free;
let me catch you in my waiting arms
And love you forever.
