The truth of the Empath

In another time and another day you would remember
our love. deep it ran with emotion.
Too much for me to handle. If you cannot feel me back
more the pity for me for I am the Empath
I feel you, I hear you......I AM you.
I can emulate your deepest emotion.
I can finish your sentance.
I know you, I finish you. Eternal chameleon
I am the mirror who absorbs you.
This is dangerous for me for I get lost in you
I become you, but you do not return the favor
You devour me and I do not see
until it is too late...
Every relationship I endaevor to have
I lose just a little bit more of myself
for your love.
So, I cannot love.
I cannot be with others, it is too much.
I cannot have what others do
I realize now I must be alone
Cause if I give myself away....I AM no more.
This is the life of the Empath
Author's Notes: In order to understand the truth of being an empath you must realize and accept what you are. Embrace your gift even if it means you cannot have a lover. For if you do you become the other person and you lose who and what you are. Just remember you have a gift. It is not a curse but an understanding and a way to bring about change in this world. Because we are the ones who work behind the scenes, planting seeds because we really know what the others really are saying and doing. Just stop crying and step back, close your eyes and listen....You will know where to begin. If you choose love you lose. Love of all is more important than just the love of one. You are the key. Make it so.
