Lost Love

If ever there was a feeling
that you messed up the greatest love of your life
then, I live it.
I messed it up about 24 years ago.
His name I will not mention, as he also knows,
my future loves will not compare.
This night I realized, I have a great healing
that needs done.
I cannot go on without it.
I must close this ache within my heart
or burn with longing for what I cannot have.
I must close this chapter.
I have placed my love upon another,
who is already taken,
badly misplaced, 6 years of reckoning.
This man, whom I adore, is not mine.
He is another's.
I cannot clean myself without redeeming myself.
I wish I could speak to him now,
but alas I fear he's passed.
my reckoning will have to wait,
till my destiny is complete,
ALONE
Author's Notes: This is dedicated to the one who completes me. Whom I have lost to careless youth. The one whom I have been told he passed the veil. I love and miss you RB.
