Yule 2010: A Bride's Blush
The elements gather, the moment is right
The land is now covered in blanket of white
The oak and the ivy decide who will rule
Tonight in the battle repeated each Yule.
For Pagans and Witches the mist did traverse
To witness the cycles of our universe
And nature, harmonious, respectful they trod
To pray and pay homage to one who is God.
The long-honored ritual with power sublime
As told by the sages, has lasted through time
The Goddess delivers the God, we are told
And blesses the new year as seasons unfold.
The power of Witches with blessings in tune
On days of the esbat they draw from the moon
And gracious, the Goddess attends to their need
With hope for the faithful their wishes concede.
The old year has ended, the promise is true
The Newborn with vigor this world will renew
The Maiden, the Mother bring yearly the Crone
With whom they will gather surrounding the throne.
As elements gather, the moment draws near
The moon in full splendor this year will appear
And bowing in honor her brilliance will fade
To greet Him who's coming to rule with the Maid.
Divine the encounter, with gracious entreat
To treat with discretion as merry ye meet
Be sure to respect and good manners afford
To love and a bride's blush, from Lady to Lord.

Author's Notes: This year we who know and understand, will have to graciously hold our peace as we witness a rare domestic display. Astronomers, physicists, and even astrologers may offer their unique insights to the phenomenon. I have chosen to share a more intimate explanation.
