Imbolc
When the sentinels of skyclad trees frame
the tenuous dawn breaking over a frozen land;
when chill winds blow as they whistle thru the pines;
ice and snow still cover the shoreline,
and the promise of new beginnings
seems like nothing but a wintry dream; there--
motionless, the silent doe, sheltered in the forest,
feels the stirrings of the faun,
and the sun casts a carpet of red--
a royal summons to welcome the growing king;
then merry meet, and with new fire proclaim:
the miracle of Imbolc comes once again!
