Homage to Sunsets
by Life is a Dance Regardless
Age Group: Adult
If you had come with me tonight
You may have come with me to admire the water
Cool but comfy breezes, saltwater breezes
I've danced an hour long ritual
And now, here I have come
To be brushed into calm by the world
The perfect end to a perfect day on my coast
Cloudless sky
Sun has just set
The voices of the last children come to play float up from the beach and the pale silver half moon shines
The last light reflects dimly off the water
I come to pay homage
Homage to myself and my choices
A soul does not question on a night like this
Living in the moment requires no questions
No answers
Tomorrow, it may rain
But right now
Watching the world from the hood of the car
Everything is perfect
And I came to bear witness to it all
Author's Notes: I wrote this after my Irish dance class, when I went down to the water to watch the sun set....
