Happy New Year

Age Group: Adult
The threshold approaches
the old and new teetering, hanging in the balance.
a fulcrum of nonexistence, yet birth;
the burden of knowledge yet an infants wonder.
As one gives way to the other,
I slither toward the years exit,
to shed this peeling cracking skin.
Scales flaking, crumbling, shedding, freeing me
from the years sorrows and pain,
from the successes and failures.
Leaving, I enter into new hope,
freed from the burden of the old husk
To grow once again into new loves
into new joys, new successes and new failures;
into new knowledge and new skin smooth and soft;
ready to be inscribed by all I shall face.
And to all of you at the witches voice
As you shed the old and embark on the new
I do wish you all a Happy and joyous new year!!
