I saw Her again, today

I saw Her again, today
Old as the dawn of time itself
She is fresh and young with each new dawn
Twinkling in stars and morning dew
The sweetness of blossoms one moment,
The sultry musk of well-seasoned wood the next.
She was my cradle and the arms that loved a child.
She gave life and taught me about love.
We met on a thousand nights sleeping under the stars;
Stars peeking between the shadows of tall trees.
She was the soft breeze which caressed me to sleep
Whispering in hushed tones through the pines.
Today I saw her disguised as timeless rocks
Covered by emerald green velvet moss.
I saw her under the canopy of trees
Fluttering in the afternoon breeze.
The trees spied their reflection in the pond
Adorned with water lilies
And they swayed their branches, self-absorbed
As they listened to the mischievous little waterfall
Sliding into the pond from below the old stone bridge.
Soon the trees will blush at their own vanity,
And then the world will sleep once more
Under a soft blanket of pure white, till spring when
Circles and cycles will bring new life once more,
As I thank You, and praise You, now and evermore.
