The Caverns
by Taliesin
Age Group: Adult
Deep within the caverns of the darkest black,
So dark of a pitch that no light can stair back;
Sits the master of illusion more powerful than Oz,
Who creates all that is seen with bluster and fog.
In the shape of an “E” and always on the go
using trick of light and shadow to put on a grand show.
Wielding truth or deceit to him matters not,
To keep focus on the play and off the true plot.
Beguiling me to stay fastened to my seats edge,
A place of frozen wonder, trapped in the sedge.
But all too long have I played the staring role,
As the one whom hides the truth that will later unfold,
To find myself in drama, written from deep within,
That makes my head dizzy as my world starts to spin.
Tired and greatly worn from the drama of the night,
From the stage I am freed when I see the brilliant light;
which is the truth about the choice of the parts that I play,
the joyous light of wisdom, revealing the dark not to fall prey.
It’s the gnosis of truth married to great pain,
That shows me what is real and for the false that I’m to blame.
And it’s then that release comes from within and from above
That the only part I need play is the character called love.
