Daughter of Balance

Who am I, but a daughter torn, between the darkness and the light. I hear a calling from both worlds, and some how I know I am the key to having a balance for both sides to exist. There will always be a dark hour, and a moment of shining light, for neither can be without the other. As there is day, there is night. The proof rises and falls each day. So many fear the darkness, calling it evil, or misguiding. But that is because they have not come to terms with it inside themselves. We all want to live in a world that has peace and harmony, and we ask… Is it ever possible? Perhaps, to an extent.
I have to come to see that without discord, we wouldn’t know our strength’s, our weaknesses, and our lives would be meaningless. Challenge is what drives us to do good, hurt is what teaches us compassion. Knowing about the darkness is one thing, but to understand it is another. Why fear it, when you can learn from it, why run from it, when you can use it? Light gives us a sense of security, it strengthens our vision to proceed.
And if you stop for a moment, you can realize we need both in our lives to survive. I am the daughter of darkness, I am also the daughter of light. I bring to everyone both sides of me. I hide nothing from anyone, not even in the shadows. You will know my name as it spoken under the stars of night, and you will feel it brush your cheek as it shines upon you by day. I am the key to happiness with in your self, blend together my two worlds, know to control them, finding balance in all things.
