Snow Dance

Ice visits my domain.
My family tries to coax it all away.
I still don't understand why.
I watch the snowfall from the inside
And I envy its grace.
I can't stay inside and watch such beauty
Fall to this earth unappreciated.
I go outside to catch this grace.
It falls in my hand and chills it on contact.
Ice beauty.
More fall on me as I try to see the stars,
But only a white cover is visible to me.
They are dancing as they fall on my face, chilling it.
Their dance fills my spirit, intoxicating me.
Hypnotizing me to join them.
I dance with them in the night.
I can't stop, not do I want to.
The snow is my dance partner.
His touch is a soothing, frigid caress on my snowy skin.
And even though it's cold, I begin to burn with such passion.
All my coldness leaves me and melts him away
To reveal his true form to me.
He is my snow dancer...
My guardian from the cold.
Author's Notes: I went outside on Friday after a blizzard hit (and I almost got killed driving home) and danced in the snow. It was so much fun. I felt like a little girl again and I would do it again in an instant.
