Sleepy Eyes Open

Sleepy eyes open
To an unwelcome day,
Memories flood back
In this bed where I lay.
Burrow in deeper
Under the quilt,
To hide from the fact
You don?t feel any guilt.
The lies that you told me,
My heart was betrayed.
You?re gone from my life
But the memories stayed.
Tears trickle down
From my sleepy eyes,
As the memories fade
I silently say my good byes.
My heart will recover,
In time it will heal,
And I will be rid
Of this pain that I feel.
