Betrayal

I remember what we had.
I remember what we did.
I remember the "love" we declared
What a fool I was.
I was there for you, yet
I knew something was wrong.
I felt admiration, but not love.
Why didn't I feel it?
They told me they didn't approve.
They said you were too forward.
They warned me about you.
Why didn't I listen?
You tried everything to comfort me.
You caressed me, "cared" for me,
You said that I was your only one.
How could I have believed you?
When it happened, that one day,
When I let you in deeper,
When you eagerly dove in.
Why did I let you in?
You enjoyed what you saw, heard and felt,
You just couldn't keep it in.
You revealed me to the world.
Why did I let you do that?
You slandered my name,
You broke me down.
You betrayed me and abused me.
How could you do that to me?
I found out what you did.
I left, but you begged me to stay.
I heard you say you were nothing without me.
Why didn't I leave you sooner?
It was the first time I felt free.
It was the only smart decision I made.
It was the point where I broke all bonds.
Why was I with you to begin with?
I trusted you,
They warned me,
You betrayed me,
It ended me.
