The War in my Head

Age Group: Adult
He's everything to me.
He's honest, takes care of me, and most of all,
Loves me for who I am.
He makes me feel "special"
In a way that's not degrading.
He gives me a sanctuary.
He gives me what I deserve:
Happiness
He's not what he seems.
All those stories, why do you believe them?
Sure there's the incident with his ex,
But of you two being past lovers
In a different lifetime?
He's only giving you one thing:
Illusion
It doesn't matter.
Even if what he says isn't real,
He still loves me now
And is going to love me.
He promises me
Joy.
It does matter and you know it!
He's getting your guard down.
He asks to touch you
To "repay how you make him feel."
This will only lead to
Regret.
It's not like that.
He gave me a destiny.
He's giving me something to look forward to.
He's leading me to
Life.
It's exactly like that.
He's tangling you in his web.
He's bringing you down with him.
He's only leading you to
Death.
I don't believe you.
He truly loves me.
He's allowing me
Freedom.
You'd better believe me.
He keeps pressuring you.
He's taking you to
Prison.
Listen to me,
He's promising me
Peace.
No, you listen.
He'll only bring
War.
He gives me
Love.
He'll give you
Sorrow.
Shut up!
Wise up!
STOP!
The future is unknown.
Of the past, nothing is remembered,
But one thing is certain:
In the sight of love
And in the midst of hate
Within all emotion
And amongst all pain,
Only one will remain
As the rest fades.
What is left of the war in the head
Will scatter into the winds.
Love will reveal
Hate will reveal,
But the stronger of the two
Will decide on the destiny
Fated to be.
When the Wise Three cast their words,
The war will end,
But first, it must be endured.
Until the Sands fall
And reveal the truth.
Who is to be loved
And who is cursed with hate.
All that is necessary to know
Is to keep your mind from those
That will pervert your mind
And darken your heart
And in turn, those that make your heart naive
And make you see only good.
Keep the scales aligned
And revealed will be...
