Why Me?

How can you see me
As the gorgeous goddess
You tell me I am
When I want to rip off my face
Every time I look in the mirror?
So why me?
How can you love something
As hideous as me
When better people vie for your attention?
They would never worry as much as I do.
They'd never freak out when you don't say "I love you."
So why me?
How can you forgive someone
Whose apologies are emtpy
After saying so many of them
For any possible reason
Even when it's irrational?
So why me?
How can you accept someone
Who lives in the midst of so much drama
That everytime she is confronted,
She must wear a mask
To hide herself from everything?
So why me?
How can you stay with someone
Who has been abandoned so many times,
That she grows afraid so easily
To break free of her chains
And embrace what is given to her?
So why me?
How can you comfort someone
Who fears to open up to anyone
Because she doesn't want the pain again?
How can you dry her tears so many times
And never clean your hands?
So why me?
How can you want to be with someone
Who is a burden to you
And makes you say you'd give up your life,
Forsaken your family and friends,
All for one insignificant being?
So why me?
How can youi love me
When I am not worth your tears
Or your love and devotion
When I cannot meanfully say I am sorry?
What am I worth to you?
Why me?
