Until You Come Back

It's only for a time,
But even that's too long.
It's got to the point
Where every second without you
Makes me feel incomplete
I'm part of a puzzle
That only you can complete.
And now you have to leave,
But you will eventually return.
I'm hoping sooner than later.
I'll stand on the shore,
Letting the waves chill my ankles
And the beack suck me down
Until your ship comes home.
You're traveling far away
Where I can't shout your name,
But I'll sit in front of a fire
Knowing that somewhere out there
You're safe and warm in front of one
Wishing, like me, that I was at your side
Safe and warm in your arms.
You will return again,
And when that times come,
My arms will entwine around your body
And never break, like steel ivy.
I could cry now 'cause you're safe,
Or I could cry because you're gone,
But I'll cry... because you love me still.
