Ghost in the Gallery

by Nyx Sange
 Age Group: Adult

I skim the protruding skull with my hand Waiting for my husbands to return to this land. I've stuck them all neatly into the wall, So my precious men are able to see all. My soft, smooth skin, blue as the sea. My pretty eyes, bright as can be. Still dressed in my wedding gown. A painted smile so I can never frown. Only able to see in blackest light Making my home glimmer darker than the night. A knock at the door. Visitors are here! I'll show them my home. Give them something to revere. I let them inside. "Welcome!" I say, But something has scared my guests away. Is it my skin, as blue as the sky? Is it my birght and yellow eyes? Is it the fact that my home is a crypt? Or is it the fact that my neck has been ripped? I want them to stay so I ask them to stay, But the guests continue to run away. I pout and I pout as they run out the door. I guess humans don't really like much gore, So I wait and I wait and I wait and I wait Until I find another man to bait.
Author's Notes: This is the start of a series of poems I'm doing about my roles in a haunted house I worked it. I added a storyline to my characters. This should be fun!
This one is when I was in the Gallery section of the indoor haunt, which is all under blacklight.
