The Shaman's Mystery

My first vision was
A shaman singing in the distance
Perhaps in the middle of nowhere
He was singing I think
The whole universe into existence
And it appeared like a blue light
Out of a rift, the edges of which
Were infinitely jagged
Upon inspection the notes swirled and
The Music became more intoxicating
As I beheld the jagged light to
See where it broke and opened,
But forever seemingly I dove
Into the space of stranger mystery
At last I realize the potency
Of his message, for he sang the
Universe into being
Each pocket of the jagged
Puzzle of life
From the beginning we hold undivided
Unconcerned we are One and alone
For in the message he felt the bubbling
The cascading, the exploding
Celebration of life and the
Illusion of many, to know we are One
and yet enjoy the trick from this far away
This is why the song
was so utterly strange...
Life is twisted enough
To contain all beauty
In the jagged pieces
We behold the shaman singing
The song that spins strangely
Knowing not whether the first division is false
Or if one came before - he supposes
It does not matter in the peering
Curving around all he sees
He is the bursting flood
That proves anything exists at all
His song reminds me of the Summerlands
And the irrational feeling
Of what cannot be:
That this has always been,
And I suppose if things exist
They cannot end, they only bend into
His note dervishes
Into the crooked, twisted rift of life.
Ecstatic and strange -
Bliss, yes,
but my God, the mystery...
