God's Tears

by Nyx Sange
 Age Group: Adult

They say that their God is awesome, But is that really true? Does He really make them stronger After they've worked out themselves to the bone To rid themselves of what He's molded? Does He make them more beautiful When they paint their faces and pluck away At everything He's created for them? Does He make them better students After they've crammed for hours on end To improve what he's given them?
They thank Him for things they've done. Why can't they see it?
They say their God is merciful, But is he really? Does God really frown on homosexuals Even though they show as much love to others As straight people do? Does God want people to burn for their mistakes? Must a penatent pagan suffer more Than an apathetic Christian? Does He think that women must suffer for their actions Even if they aren't fit to raise a child That was forcibly given to them?
They say God hates everything they think is wrong. Can't they see his tears?
I wonder what would happen if they saw Their Almightly God in tears. Not just because of the earth His people destroyed to live on And thank Him for the homes they've built Not because of the hateful acts His people commit in His name While breaking his commandments. They've forgotten the ones he loves, Like his lovely Goddess of the Earth Who's stayed by his side.
If the Pagans can catch his tears... if "heathens" can wipe them away, Why can't His people?
Author's Notes: I saw a news segment about a gay soldier who came home dead from Iraq and people were protesting AT HIS OWN FUNERAL! Then the leader of the protest is interviewed and says how proud she is about telling everyone how happy God is for bringing home dead soldiers. It really makes me mad and wonder how God really feels about his people doing this.
