Make Your Choice

by Nyx Sange

Age Group: Adult

I've seen the sorrorws she's really gone through.
I've seen the joys that make her smile real.
I know how she truly feels,
Even though we're polar opposites.
Light and darkness, Hot and cold, Intelligence and intuition.
But that doesn't change who we are.
Just because I'm different from her
Doesn't mean I don't know what she deserves.

She's suffered much pain in her life
With every love that's passed her by.
And with every lesson, there comes an understading.
Regret, experience and longing come through to bring her down
But then make her a citadel of emotions.
With every betrayal, she locks up emotions
And drowns them with Jack, Jim and the Captain
And with each drowning, I lose more of her.

You gave her dreams that have made her smile in sleep.
You gave her a ring that promised your love,
Even though you didn't commit to it yet
Because it was too soon at the time.
Then again, even I should have seen it coming.
When you wanted to run away at any scares of a family
Instead of saying you'd be there for her when she would need you
But I let it off because you needed time too,
But now, it seems, your time is running short.

I leave you with a choice that you must make soon:
Leave my sister and spare the agony of future break-up
And you can pursure another never as good as she,
Or you can pull your thumb out and take her in your arms
And never let her go. The choice is yours, but know this.
Your loss will mean a loss for her too.
She will drown and lose herself again. My big sister dies again.
Just remember: You're not the only one who loved her...

Author's Notes: My sister is going through a "break" with her boyfriend. I'm told he's not ready for a commitment yet even though they've been going out for two years. They're not going for marraige, but he should stop crying and make her happy again. It's what she deserves.
