How Dare You (Jason's Song)

by Nyx Sange
 Age Group: Adult

I understand that what happened between you and him has little to do with me. But that doesn't mean it has nothing to do with me. I am his friend, one of his best. I've sworn to be there for him when he needs someone, And now you have failed him. You've lied to him for over a month. "It was all an experiment, " he sobbingly told me. "He used me to see how gays would socially interact. He lied about being gay. The f***er is straight!" Even a distance away, I wanted to wipe his tears away. Do you even know what you have done for the poor boy? You helped him discover who he really was. You gave him the courage to express it. You gave him reason to feel emotions he has never felt before. He showed you unconditional love in return. But your experiment is over now. As quickly as you came, you left him in the dust. You told him it was never real. You told him unfazed and heartless. You made him believe a lie. Congratulations. I hope you're happy. I hope you're happy that you don't have him loving you anymore. I hope you're happy that you hurt this innocent boy. I hope you're happy that you've crushed him more than anyone else has dared try. He deserves so much more than what you "gave" him. Now comes the part when I tell you to be glad you are across the country. Be glad you do not witness his friends indulge in their primal instincts. Feel relieved that you do not know that we would hunt you down. We would find you and cause more harm than you caused him. We would bring back your heart to him so he could crush it like you did to him, But also be glad we are human as well. Be glad that we know that doing so you bring you to death. So be glad that ignorance is bliss. I would not want to affect your academic career by revealing his pain to you. I mean you are human after all, right? If I did tell you in person, would your stomach not turn upon hearing this? I think it would, as it would if the same thing happened to you. If you gave a stranger your heart and they ripped it to shreds, Would you not ache as well? How dare you enter his life with such malcontent. He, and anyone else, deserves far better than you.
Author's Notes: One of my friends, who is gay, was in his first relationship for a month. Today, his "boyfriend" revealed that he was actually straight and using him in an experiment for a media class on how gays socially interact. If you ask me, it's the lowest thing I have ever heard of and I am currently furious with this person.
