Hail Kali

by PanSpiritus
 Age Group: Adult

Born above the void, high swinging The sword of the Mother cleaved through the mass Golden ages were spent, Millions of years had gone sailing Low she sank, footprint in the black flames of eternity Her hard ankle, like a rock, did not melt She slew the demons, one by one In the form of a lion she devoured the masses And sprung from her own forehead low Bearing the sign of the third eye, The open eye toward the gloom
I am what I am because of this Because I cried like a baby, And laid low like a corpse Before the offender, KALI, our Mother The Void which brings being She bore the likeness of The dark from which all springs In her face was the darkness of darkness In her eyes were glittering swords, The potential of sudden death in the cave
I horripilated She mounted the dead about me Stewed milk from her own blood Fed by the fungi that fed from the corpses Drunk from Soma, wonderful horror Her eyes swirling with grief Tongue flaring toward full expression Arms outstretched like Spider or scorpion, She wailed and gave birth to Herself
I cried in drunken intoxication With Kali, the mother of darkness, Who held a head akin to my own, Kali, the mother who vanquishes demons, Who lifts the night, being born in it, Cutting off its head, ingesting its seed, Takes on its form, wonderful and harrowing, Alluring and threatening The only origin we can imagine SHE
We are inside of our nightmare And she inside of us We are never alone for As terrible as life can be The nightmare is lucid, the dream is on the path Toward golden ruin, the marriage of heaven and hell It bears a child, whose name is Wonderful Whose mother is us, Swirling with the four arms of the winds Bestowing boons upon the faithful Bringing down the devils of deceit Her weapons are tools of mercy Her Hell is a secret Heaven Her scourge is the kiss of reason
What is terrible will bring what is wonderful The dark mother, the necessary child Will come out of the night So we have nothing to fear The dark sleep of the void Could have threatened us BUT Its teeth were of a saint, a goddess, She took the form of your mother, She took the form of a void JAI KALI, Queen of wisdom Titan of Saturn, Mother of Time Whose is the Void that is our Mother, Whose age rules ages... Whose darkness allows existence...
