Charge to Brighid

Come forth, I pray,
I beg of you
Shepherdess of Mankind
And weave me like
The old reeds
Into thy symbol bind
Be here, I pray
Cross woven
Goddess, saint, and muse
In all signs of the midwife
By all forms that all peoples
Use
Come fiery arrow
From the deep
Come brightness
From the dark
Enliven all like an old tool
Reforge the heart
Reveal the Spark
Midwife of Crafts
Most sacred
Make us realise
And unto you
Be born
Flame's pillar
At the golden sunrise
In all who quest of it
Come healer!
Give the golden flame!
And charge with life
The breath who holds
The meaning of thy name!
Daughter of Dagda
Wife of Baron
Saint of Kildare
Hail Brigantia
In likeness
To Anna and Simeon
That purified
The presentation
Of all faiths
And all healing
You are the midwife still
That watches sun
Returning to revive
Exalted hill
Come flame
Of golden hour
Uncross the holds
That bar our power
Come name
Of fount, of hidden shower
Revive the earth
In snowdrop flower
By rowan's bud
On ancient shore
Be with mankind
This year once more
Tend to mother
Tend to child
And the Goddess
Of the hidden wild
Come by
Old Aquarius' fount
By the sacred star
In the hidden mound
Where we are born
Reveal thy form
As healing muse
Thy flame transform...
Come golden fire
Within the forge
Come hidden fountain
Of the deep
Watch over us
As we are born
Send golden dreams
To those who sleep...
Awaken more
With sight of flame
Let hidden soul
Arise
Like the one whose
Head in pillar of flame
Comes down to us
By golden sunrise.
