The Coffee Cafe

A simple chime as the door is opened, the signal to look at every customer. The gentle gush of chilled winter air and the light clank of the metal bells on the glass window-door. An aroma of chocolate, fresh cookies and strong coffee lingers in the air and fabric of the furniture. The atmosphere is relaxed, a simple, mellow mood as interesting beings sip on their mochas, macchiatos and lattés. I sit in the corner, a comfortable, round table in front of me, littered with blank white sheets of paper, a rich, black laptop and my caramel mocha latté. The ideas that usually flow from my fingertips are at a standstill, so I linger and people-watch. An old woman enters, crutched slightly on a cane, with a flashy, floral sun hat and shuffles to the ordering counter. A pair of friends giggle softly at a booth, empty plates and crumbs lay crumpled in the middle of the table. A couple sits in the opposite corner, two men, staring longingly at one another. I smile and think to myself, love is a wondrous thing. It seems that simple people in a simple moment can be the most enjoyable and comforting idea for another.
