Witches Calling
by Shouting Mountain
Age Group: Adult
Shadows dance in forest and fen,
Soaring over marsh and plain
We are spirits long ago slain
Searching for the heart that's worthy
Searching for the soul that's right
Searching the world over
We search for you tonight.
Long ago by fire and fear we left this earthly plane
With frenzied lust, hate and fear they called the cruel flames
Staring at the ashes, they thought their work was done.
Our power now is greater than the sum of moon and sun.
Searching for the heart that's worthy
Searching for the soul that's right
Searching the world over
We search for you tonight.
Their dogs will know and they will howl as we are on the prowl
But they can not see us, only feel us as a chill within their bones
Our work goes on our legacy lives. It is written on ancient stones.
We rise from the earth and the Goddess we adore
Don't look for us to use the door,
We are coming through the floor.
Searching for the heart that's worthy
Searching for the soul that's right
Searching the world over
We search for you tonight.
Your life prepared you for this day, you called us from your dreams.
Your path is about to take a turn and reach for new extremes.
Soon you will feel our caress and then you will be blessed.
We are the Daughters of the Earth Goddess
Our touch is strong but tender
Our mighty presence will bring your loving surrender
As we call, you feel euphoric and not quite stable.
The world becomes unfamiliar, just like a fable.
What is within you that has just awoken?
There is a loving truth as yet unspoken.
Trust our loving touch, accept our guidance trusting much.
A blessing ever much be known,
The seeds of new understanding have been sown.
Realm of wonders three by three,
Stick and broom and cauldron come to thee.
We bring you now to the Pagan Nation.
You will stand skyclad for your initiation.
All is new and all is old.
you never knew you could be so bold.
Holding the wand close to your heart,
Merrily we meet and merrily we part.
Cast the circle with the Sabbat moon.
The Daughters swirl and make you swoon.
You are a witch with the healing light,
Never has your destiny felt so right.

Author's Notes: This is a new version of my poem, "The Calling". This version is written from another point of view. I did it as a request from a musician who is thinking of making it into a song. I will probably keep reworking it.
