Sonnet IV: Invocation of Pan
Age Group: Adult
Come, Great God Pan
Whose name means 'All'
Teacher of Man
And keeper of the Golden Ball
In woods thou art Silvanus
Speaker for the trees
In the fields thou art Faunus
Lover of the Breeze
Join in our rite
Kindly old Satyr
Lend us thy foresight
With thy pine cone rod
Frolic with us oh ancient God
Author's Notes: The golden ball is a reference to the Wild Man in the book Iron John by Robert Bly.
