As One Man Falls

by Gram Alabaster
 Age Group: Adult

As he falls he wonders if he will live much more, But as soon as he hits the ground, The only thing he and others saw was gore, The only thing he did not hear was the crack of his skull, As soon as he began to die, He chose not to weep, But to let the others around cry, As they rush him to the Emergency Room, His family prepares papers for his early tomb, The last thing he ever heard was his girlfriends voice, What he had done was because of a terrible life choice, Why that man had fallen so bad? None are too sure, Some are overly glad, But I was one that knows, That I would not want to go through that, Not to take that pain and endure till death. But it was then that he found eternal rest, The sleep that is truly best
